Welcome to Compass Class 🧭

Welcome to Compass Class, where our school journey begins!

We are called Compass Class because, just like a compass helps us find our way, we are at the very beginning of our school journey, learning to find our way through new experiences, friendships and challenges. We are a mixed Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class, creating a caring and supportive environment where children can learn and grow together.

Meet the Team

Our class teacher is Mrs Reynolds, supported by our wonderful full-time Teaching Assistant, Mrs Bayley-Kendall.

We are also very fortunate to have Mrs James, our HLTA, who supports the class through lesson cover, ELSA support and pastoral care.

Together, we work as a team to ensure that every child feels safe, valued, supported and ready to learn.

Learning Together

Compass Class is centred around nurture, peer collaboration and building independence. As our children begin their early school years, we want them to develop confidence, curiosity and a positive attitude towards learning.

Being a mixed-age class gives our children fantastic opportunities to learn from one another. Older children can develop leadership and communication skills while younger children benefit from positive role models and peer support.

We encourage our children to:

Above all, we want Compass Class to be a place where children feel happy, secure and excited to come to school each day.
