Our School Day

Morning Arrangements

We encourage all children to arrive at school by 8:40am, so they can take part in our morning Wake and Shake session. This short, fun exercise activity, set to music, helps children wake up, get active, and feel ready for learning.

For children, who may find Wake and Shake challenging due to the noise level or type of activity, we offer a morning nurture group, providing a calm and supportive start to the day in a quieter environment.

Following Wake and Shake, children go straight to their classrooms for registration and the school day then begins.

Arrival at School

Children enter school in the morning through the Garden Room door, accessed from The Yard playground. This door closes shortly after 8:45am.

Please note that The Yard playground is unsupervised before school, so children should not be left unaccompanied.

If your child arrives after the Garden Room door has closed, they should enter the school via the main reception entrance, where they will be signed in before going to class.

End of the School Day

At the end of the school day, parents and carers are asked to wait in The Yard playground. Children will be dismissed through the various doors that lead directly onto this area, and staff will ensure they are sent out safely. As this area can become very busy, we kindly ask parents not to let children play on scooters etc.

If your child is in Year 5 or Year 6 and you would like them to leave the school site independently, permission must be given in advance. Parents and carers will need to inform the school office by completing the necessary permission form before independent dismissal can take place. Additional permission needs to be given if you are happy for your child in Y5 or Y6 to leave school independently after a school club.
