A journey to independence, growing in confidence as learners.
Welcome to Horizon Class, where every day is an opportunity to learn, grow and take another step towards becoming confident, independent learners.
We are a mixed Year 3 and Year 4 class, and our classroom is a place where everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate their successes and learn from their mistakes. Just like looking towards the horizon, we believe there is always something new to discover and something exciting to work towards.
Our aim is to help every child develop the confidence, resilience and independence they need to thrive. We encourage our children to have a go, ask questions, make choices and take increasing responsibility for their own learning.
Meet the Horizon Team
Our class is supported by a fantastic team:
- Mrs Adams – Class Teacher
- Mrs Pottinger – Teaching Assistant
- Mrs Young – Teaching Assistant
- Mrs James – HLTA and ELSA, who covers Horizon Class on Monday afternoons
Together, we work as a team to create a positive, supportive and encouraging environment where every child feels valued and ready to learn.
Our Horizon Journey
In Horizon Class, we want our children to look back and see how far they have travelled. We will encourage them to:
- Believe in themselves and their abilities
- Become confident and curious learners
- Persevere when things are challenging
- Work together and support one another
- Take responsibility for their learning
- Grow in independence
- Share their ideas and ask questions
- Celebrate their own achievements and those of others
We are excited for the journey ahead and can't wait to see our Horizon learners grow in confidence, discover new things and reach for their goals.
Together, we will keep looking towards the horizon and see just how far we can go!
