Play Leaders

Our Play Leaders are children chosen from our Woodpecker Class who want to make a real difference at playtimes. They help make our playground a fun, safe, and inclusive place for everyone!

👕 Who Are the Play Leaders?

Play Leaders are children who:

  • Want to help others have fun at playtime
  • Lead games and activities for younger children
  • Support children who may be unsure who to play with
  • Are easily recognised by their special pink hoodies, so all children know who they can go to for help or a game

🎯 What Do Play Leaders Do?

Play Leaders make playtimes more enjoyable by:

  • 🌟 Leading Games: Organising fun activities and games for children of all ages
  • 🤝 Helping Younger Children: Making sure everyone has someone to play with and feels included
  • 🎨 Encouraging Creativity: Helping children invent games, try new activities, and use the playground equipment safely
  • 💬 Being a Friend: Offering support, kindness, and guidance during playtimes

🌟 Why It Matters

Being a Play Leader helps children:

  • Develop leadership and communication skills
  • Learn about teamwork and responsibility
  • Build confidence while supporting others
  • Make playtimes fun, safe, and welcoming for all children

How Are Play Leaders Chosen?

Play Leaders are carefully selected from the Woodpecker Class. They are children who are enthusiastic, kind, and ready to make a positive impact at playtimes.

Wearing their coloured hoodies, they are a visible, friendly presence on the playground—someone every child can turn to for help, friendship, or a fun game.

Play Leaders are an important part of our school community, helping to ensure that everyone enjoys playtime and feels included.
